A man was fined Dh1,000 and jailed for one month for stealing personal photos of a woman from his wife's phone in Fujairah.
The victim had filed a complaint against the husband of her friend, according to Arabic news reports.
After calling him in for questioning, Dibba Fujairah police found numerous personal photos of the woman in his phone.
He confessed that he had taken advantage of his wife sleeping to transfer the photos to his device.
His wife demanded and obtained a court-mandated divorce as a result of the incident.
Her family tried to convince her not to divorce him but to no avail.
