Five UAE nationals and four Asian have been referred to the Dubai Public Prosecution for raping and stealing from seven persons, including six women.
A police patrol team was dispatched to a house located in Dubai's Al Waheed area, after Operations Room received a call about a rape and theft.
On arriving at the site of the incident, police found six Asian women and a man, who had been working as prostitutes, and had also been victims of a robbery.
The 35-year-old suspect male, S.B and women, including 24-year-old M.A, 23-year-old B.T, 20-year-old Sh. P, 25-year-old M.B, 28-year-old B.A and 31-year-old A.M, told the police that they called the police to report a theft by a group of men at knife point.
Providing a description about the suspects, the victims told the police that one of them spoke Arabic while the others spoke Pashto.
They said that the well-built men broke into the house, stealing their money and mobile phones.
Recounting the incident, they further told the police that Sh.B was raped by two suspects. The police referred the woman to the forensic laboratory and formed a team to investigate the incident, which led to the arrest of seven suspects, including four Emiratis.
The arrested Emirati suspects include, A.A, M.A, A.M, and H.M. The three Asian suspects are D.Sh, F.A and B.M.
During interrogation, the third suspect said that they headed to the flat, being used for prostitution, in order to steal. He added that the fourth, fifth and ninth suspects came from Sharjah to Dubai, where they met the other suspects and took them to the flat - known by the fourth suspect.
Describing the crime, he further said that they broke into the house and stole Dh4,500, which they divided among themselves. They also stole 62 mobile phones of various brands from the victims.
The interrogation revealed that the first and second Emirati suspects had raped the 30-year-old Asian woman Sh.B.
The police arrested the first and second suspect in Dubai's Al Khawaneej area, while suspects six, seven and eight were arrested in Sharjah's Qasimya area. The third suspect was arrested in Al Warqa and the fifth suspect was arrested in Oud Al Muteena on the same day.
The other two suspects, UAE national A.B and Asian expat A.O, have criminal records for thefts. They confessed to threatening the victims with a knife and raping the woman.
