A housemaid went on trial, accused of having illegal sex with a grocery delivery boy in her employer's home.
The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court of First Instance heard that the Asian woman, who is alleged to be married, was in relationship with the delivery boy.
On the day of the incident, she called her boyfriend - who is also accused in the case - to come to her employer's house when the Arab family was on an outing. The pair allegedly had sex in the house, which was later found out by the family.
The employer reported the matter to the police. After making an investigation, the maid and her boyfriend were arrested. During interrogation, the maid admitted to the charges.
Prosecutors charged the woman with adultery and for allowing the man to enter her employer's house. The delivery boy was charged with having an illicit relation with the maid and for illegally entering into a house.
The woman admitted to the charge of adultery at the court but her boyfriend denied the charges. A lawyer representing the pair told the court that the woman might have been coerced into confession and urged to grant her time so that she can change her mind.
And on the part of the man, the lawyer argued that the man's work was to deliver groceries to people's homes and it was illogical to accuse him of entering the said home without permission.
