The Court of First Instance has sentenced a Moroccan woman to six months in jail for working in prostitution. The 28-year-old woman, a jobless, was arrested on July 28 by Al Rashidiyah police.
The court ordered that she be deported after serving her time in jail. According to prosecution records, the woman on trial admitted during the police interrogation and investigation that she used to have paid sex with men for amounts between Dh500 and Dh1,000 for one night.
She may appeal the ruling within 15 days.
