The court ordered that the 22-year-old Pakistani guard be deported after serving his jail term. According to the prosecution records, the defendant groped the 22-year-old British woman architect thrice.
The complainant told the prosecutor that she went to the Dubai Investment Park in the evening of a day in April. Her friend was with her and waited for her in the car. She wanted to enquire about the location of a school. She spotted the defendant, who worked as a guard, at the security office there.
She asked the defendant for assistance in locating the school and he told her that he had a map in his office. He told her to go inside with him to see the map. She waited for him as he searched for a long time in the drawers for a map. Then, he stood behind her and inadvertently groped her quickly. She thought it was by mistake. She tried to locate the school on the map in vain.
He told her that he had another map and looked in an information booklet. In the meantime, he groped her in the same way again. This time, she realised that he had done that on purpose and she turned to get out of the office without talking to him. She felt scared as she was alone with the accused. The defendant then allegedly followed her and groped her for the third time.
He told her not to leave and said that he had another map.
When she asked him why he touched her, he first denied it. He later said sorry many times.
She went to her friend who was waiting for her in the car. She told her about what happened and called the police.
In the Jebel Ali police station, the defendant admitted that he touched the woman. The verdict is subject to appeal within 15 days at the Court of Appeal.
