Lewis Gregory played a gem of an innings of 49 runs to guide Islamabad United to 3-wicket victory over Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League match at the National Stadium Karachi on Sunday.
Islamabad United stated the chase brightly but then their batsmen struggled and they were reduced to 6/74 in 12th over. But Faheem Ashraf’s 23 and Gregory’s 49 took the home in a tense finish.
Earlier Islamabad United won the toss and decided to field first against Multan Sultans. Islamabad captain Shadab Khan had the dew factor in his mind. Mohammad Rizwan lead from the front and hit a polished 71 to take Sultans to 150.
James Vince (16), Rilee Rossouw (25) and Carlos Brathwaite (22) chipped in with useful contributions.
Hasan Ali bowled well and gave away only 16 runs in his four overs and took one wicket. After performing well for Pakistan in Tests and T20s against South Africa Hasan looks in top shape and it bodes well for Islamabad.
