More than 58,000 new Covid-19 tests have also been carried out, the health ministry said.

In a statement, the ministry highlighted its aim to expand the scope of testing nationwide, to facilitate the early detection of Covid-19 cases and carry out the necessary treatment. In the past week, many hospitals in the country were declared Covid-free after discharging their recovered patients.

Authorities in the UAE have observed an increase in the number of violations of Covid-19 precautionary measures after the night-time movement restrictions were lifted. This includes failure to wear masks, hosting gatherings and non-adherence to social distancing guidelines.
The ministry have reiterated that gatherings remain prohibited at all public and private places, including homes, offices, farms and malls. It also warned that those not committing to the safety measures face fines and even imprisonment.

The ministry has urged the citizens and residents to comply with the instructions issued by the UAE health and security authorities and to follow social distancing guidelines.
