The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention on Wednesday reported 3,506 cases of Covid-19, along with 3,746 recoveries. Six deaths were also reported.
The new cases were detected through additional 162,945 tests.
More than 23.8 million tests have been carried out across the country so far.
The total number of cases in UAE as on January 20 stand at 263,729 while total recoveries are 235,421. Death toll rises to 762.
On Tuesday, authorities announced that Ajman government employees will need to take a Covid-19 PCR tests every seven days at their own expense. Those who have received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine are exempted from the requirement.
Meanwhile, the UAE economy looks all set for a V-shaped recovery this year due to a strong rebound in tourism and oil prices as well as the emirates' strong links to emerging markets that will help its return to the growth path.
First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), which released the Global Investment Outlook report on Tuesday, predicted an imminent improvement in incoming tourism for the UAE, thanks in part to the the country's successful management of the Covid-19 crisis.
