Jon Turteltaub, the director of Disney’s “National Treasure” movies, is in negotiations to direct and will also produce with Andrew Panay. The story centers on two jurors who fall in love during a court case.

Klein is also writing the adaptation of the Tony-winning musical “In the Heights” as well as another romantic comedy, “TMI,” both for Universal.

Klein is known for his love stories, having penned “Serendipity,” which starred John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale, and “A Good Year,” which starred Russell Crowe.

Turteltaub directed 2004’s “National Treasure” and its sequel, “Book of Secrets.” He also directed “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” which grossed over $215 million worldwide.

In additional to “Unreasonable Doubt,” Universal in recent weeks has picked up “Do Gooders” for Judd Apatow to produce, as well as an untitled comedy with Tina Fey producing.
