Mark your calendar and dust off your wallets, it’s that time of year again. With summer season having set in completely, the city seems to be slowing down, but that’s no reason for family fun to come to a halt.
The Ramadan Night Market has become a staple in Dubai’s annual calendar. Last year’s opening night saw 20,000 visitors, with 125,000 in total making the most of shopping opportunities and other fun-filled activities during the event, and this year is no exception.
Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 8pm until 2am from July 2 to 11, entry is free for shoppers and their families. With an impressive line up of over 400 outlets under one roof, this year’s event is shaping up to be quite the bonanza.
As the biggest shopping event during Ramadan, expect a unique shopping experience offering everything from traditional food, entertainment, modern technology, automobiles and fashion. Retailers from around the globe have found that Dubai’s cosmopolitan residents are looking for a family friendly environment to shop for Eid and enjoy all the festivities the Holy Month has to offer. Where most street markets are outdoors, the Ramadan Night Market is held inside, proving a more comfortable and convenient shopping experience.
“Despite a plethora of shopping options and world class malls in Dubai, the Ramadan Night Market has become very popular within just three years of its launch, simply because it has a unique charm offering visitors an extraordinary shopping as well as family bonding opportunity which you don’t find elsewhere,” said Sunil Jaiswal, President Sumansa Exhibitions, organisers of the Ramadan Night Market.
Dubbed by many as a paradise for shoppers, the market will see residents flocking to check out the five pavilions dedicated to fashion, health and beauty, jewellery, food, a grand Arabic themed majlis and a massive kids area.
“The relaxed atmosphere, bazaar kind of feel coupled with retailers from across the world selling exquisite collectible, gifting, artifacts and varied items fascinates the visitors,” Jaiswal added.
Children can spend hours at the Kids Play Area face painting, creating in the arts & crafts section, playing in the bouncy castles, interacting with mascots, life-size cartoon characters and clowns, before they catch the “Prince & Princess Dress-up” Kids Fashion Show. In the meantime parents can check out discounts, bargains and special offers as well as the daily prizes that have proved to be an irresistible attraction to visitors in the past. Last year international trips, cars and other prizes were awarded through a raffle draw, on spot prizes and other giveaways.
One of the most popular attractions of the festival is the work of handwriting analyst and grapho therapist duo Archana Bora and Neha Doshi. Available for consultation sessions throughout the ten days, they will use the science of graphology, also known as handwriting analysis, to recount aspects of your personality, behaviour and psychological profile - all on how you dot your i’s and cross your t’s.
A guaranteed fun night out for the whole family where there will be something for everyone.
