Reminisce-ing with Lani
FOR THE second time in as many years, Lani Misalucha is back in the Philippines to release a new album and to touch base with her Filipino fans.
Lani is now based in Las Vegas with her family-husband Noli, who’s an electronics engineer, and daughters Louven and Lian. She’s in town to promote her new album, titled Reminisce, under Universal Records, and to do several mall shows.
Lani’s new CD, which consists of 14 songs, all covers, was recorded entirely in Las Vegas. She estimates that it took more than a year to finish Reminisce.
Universal Records’ producer-arrangersongwriter Ito Rapadas flew to the US to personally supervise the entire process.
But according to Lani, this does not necessarily mean that she is thinking of staging a comeback in the Philippines or settling here again.
She recorded the album as a way of keeping in touch with her public back home. “I’m not permanently based here, so I thought it would be nice for them (my Filipino fans in Manila), to have something to listen to while I’m not around,” says Lani.
