Perfect tan

NEWLY-SINGLE Cameron Diaz prides herself on being a trendsetter rather than a follower. With her sinewy model frame, even the most understated attire would still look glamorous on the 34-year-old star.

Do you watch what you eat?

Growing up, I was this completely skinny child and my best friend's mother thought I was poor and that my family couldn't afford to feed me. I eat all the forbidden foods such as beef and greasy fries - I'm a cheeseburger junkie. I'm a salty, greasy girl.

Which designer do you rely on if you want to look glamorous?

I wore a gorgeous white Valentino dress to the Oscars this year. It flowed with my silhouette. It was very fitted but comfortable at the same time and that's what I look for in a designer gown, especially when you have to wear it for eight hours.

What's your greatest extravagance?

I've never been very extravagant - I'm a simple person. I like to surf a lot so my only fashion extravagance would be investing in a lot of bikinis.

What kind of bikinis do you wear for surfing?

Pualani have really great Hawaiian bikinis which I've worn over the last few years. I just like the stretch. I don't like tan-lines, so I try to get the smallest bikini possible.

What brand of jeans do you wear?

I am denim obsessed. Every week it's something different because there are so many different types of jeans. I'm over the dark wash with the fade, I like the true dark wash and I definitely like the bootleg a lot. Right now I'm into William Rast (her ex Justin Timberlake's company). They have a great cut and are good for all butt sizes!

What bag are you toting?

My Marc Jacobs canvas tote (above). I have it in military green and it has metal studs down the side. It goes with everything and you can dress it up or down - I love it.

What's the best fashion freebie you've received recently?

I have this cute little mint green bikini by Le Doux Lollipop which is a cool Brazilian label that I wear a lot.

Do you have a favourite beauty product you couldn't survive without?

My skin takes a lot of effort and it's always breaking out. When I was modelling I had about 15 people touching me all the time. I'd have dirt on my face and make-up on top of dirt. Nice! I'd go home and lock myself in the bathroom for an hour and just shower and moisturise. I really like anything by Kiehl's, especially the Ultra Facial Cream which has a lot of avocado oil in it.

What's your most treasured accessory?

My mum gave me a beautiful silver hairpin when I landed my first modelling contract. It can also be used as a weapon.

Would you ever consider plastic surgery?

I'm not comfortable with the idea of cutting myself up - I hope I never become that vain. I will never get breast implants. I just think in LA a lot of girls are doing it for other people. So it's maybe in now to look big, but in three years from now, it'll probably be the flatchested look that's back.

Do you have a favourite make-up trick?

I wear MAC's white frost shadow on my brow bone to make my blue eyes pop.

What outfits make you feel empowered?

Everyhting I wear tends to revolve around my bust. It's not because I'm trying to be sexy, but because I find wearing a bra extremely uncomfortable.

Basically, I like to wear short skirts that show my stomach. Or little baby doll dresses that are open at the top and super short at the bottom.

I often max out my credit cards when I shop at Versace and Giorgio Armani. I also have a serious shoe fetish. Come on, a girl can never have too many sandals.

What's your biggest beauty blunder?

I tend to buy dozens of creams which I've probably only dipped my finger in once. There are about 20 different gels and creams in my bathroom cabinet at this moment. My skin is very sensitive and I have a serious pimple problem.
