But what is making bigger news these days is the reported transfer of Jenny Miller to GMA-7. As everyone knows, it was with ABS-CBN that Jenny’s career boomed, particularly when she played the mermaid best friend of Claudine Barretto in Marina.

But after that, her projects with the network began to slow down. She appeared in Spirits and was one of the celebrity contestants on the first season of You Can Dance, but then there came a time that Jenny was wondering what her next project would be, and she wasn’t getting any answers.

So when her contract with Star Magic expired, Jenny started to explore her options. She tells City Times what happened: “When my contract with ABS-CBN was about to expire, the renewal was already with me, but then I thought, it sounded like a good thing if I could be available to both networks.

I talked personally to my bosses at Star Magic about it. At first, they discouraged me from going ahead with my plans, saying they would prioritise me (in terms of projects), but I waited, and nothing happened. So I had to make a decision. I also have needs and responsibilities, and I think they understood that.”

These days, Jenny is seen regularly in Codename: Asero and SOP, both on GMA-7, and Midnight DJ, a horror-suspense show aired on the new TV5. While she is grateful for all the projects that have come her way, Jenny clarifies that she remains what she originally set out to be: a freelance artist.
