And when Katrina Kaif spoke about the film, she definitely sounded excited.
But it was more about Akshay Kumar’s role than hers! According to the actress, who has acted with Akki in quite a few movies, this would be his best role so far and he would be known for this one. “For Akshay this is the role of a lifetime.
It is going to go down as one of his more memorable works,” says Katrina.
“Some roles really fit very well and this one fits him and he has done a great job,” she adds.
The actress thinks that Akshay has not only done great as an actor, but also carried the Sardar look well. “I thought he looked outstanding. It’s hard to carry off that look, but he has done it wonderfully!” she says.
Katrina reveals that Akshay plays a simple person who gets entangled in complex situations. “He is a simple person at heart who gets thrown into a very complex situation. He gets into the big bad world of gangsters and kind of makes a mess out of it!” she says talking about the storyline.
The actress lets out more as she says that Akshay’s uncle wants him to get married in the film. And in between all this there is a cute love story between them. They even shot for a song (which is going up the chart these days) and some romantic scenes in Egypt.
The film sees Katrina and Akshay coming back together after Welcome, which was the biggest grosser among the films released last year. They had also starred in the very successful Namastey London that came in the first half of 2007.
“People like to see us together and he is a great actor to work with. And over a period of time we have definitely developed a chemistry and we look good together,” she says, confident that the film would be liked by the audience.
Akshay in the meantime would be looking at hitting the jackpot with this after Tashan, which gave him his first flop in a long time.
