CROONING TO A crowd of screaming fans that had been warmed up by the tunes of club mixer DJ Cowboy, Shaggy sauntered on stage around 10pm with the same vitality and coolness he exuded when he burst onto the scene in the early nineties.
A brief glimpse into the crowd and a trademark raise of the eyebrow was the only introduction needed as he chanted the now legendary words, “Mr. Lover Lover,” to screams from the audience and a flurry of pyrotechnics. More posturing continued from the main man dressed smartly in a waistcoat and tie, sending fans into a frenzy before the show got underway with his greatest selling hit Mr. Bombastic.
The show continued long into the night, with each tune encouraging more screaming from the diverse throng of admirers before concluding with a hugely energetic finale and encore.
