The Design Competition, open to all female students in their senior year of high school, is being launched in Qatar, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Syria and Turkey.

This year's theme of "Building Bonds" is provided by the main sponsor Sabban Property Investments (SPI). The statement that students must keep in mind as they present various forms of art is provided by Issam Alsabban, Chairman and CEO of Sabban Property Investments.

The Design Competition invites students to design a visual presentation that represents and communicates the relevance of bonds of understanding in our time. "The Design Competition provides a chance for girls in the Middle East to express their creativity. VCUQ provides the opportunity for students to get a high quality education without having to travel very far to Europe or America", said Ms Dima Salameh, VCUQ Recruitment Officer.

From the expected hundreds of participants three semi-finalists from each country will be chosen to receive cash prizes, generously provided by Sabban Property Investments.

The Scholarships for Creativity to attend VCUQ are provided by Shaikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al Missned, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation.

All projects will be judged by a world-class jury of artists, design professionals, faculty members, and government representatives from Qatar. Entries must be postmarked by January 15, 2006.
