Fifteen shoppers have cumulatively won a total amount of Dh1.5 million as cash prizes so far. With total prize money of Dh 4.5 million, DSMG runs one of the most exciting promotions of DSS 2008.

Elated to hear that he had won Dh100,000, 33-year-old Asghar Khan said that he feels like he is walking on a cloud.

“Not just any cloud, but cloud nine,” stated an excited Khan who is a taxi driver by profession and has been residing in Dubai for the last eight years. “It is great news. My brother is simply speechless.”

“I kept rechecking the coupon number. I didn’t think it was real. I didn’t think something like this would ever happen to me,” said the jubilant winner. He plans to use money to treat his ailing mother back home in Pakistan.

“The balance of the prize money will be used to construct a house and start a business,” said Khan who has not been able to go home due to financial problems. “We are poor people and this is a dream come true for me,” said an overjoyed Khan.

Mohammed Ahmad Sadani from Egypt who also won Dh100,000 is a seventeen-year old student living with his mother and sister. “I am excited. My mother filled the coupon in my name. I will give the cash to my mother.”

Admitting the news came as a complete surprise, he expressed his desire to buy something special as a memento to mark the occasion, “but my mother will take the decision on how to spend the money.”

Decorated with the DSS and DSMG theme, Lamcy Plaza also hosted a 30 minute live event to accompany the raffle. A sequence of music, dance and magic, the show transported the audience into a world of fantasy
