UAE promotes IDEX at the Paris air show

PARIS — The UAE's General Exhibition Authority (GEA) pavilion at the French Le Bourger 2005 exhibition attracted remarkable attention from the participants as well as the visitors.

There are some 1935 companies representing 42 countries participating in the event, of which the French firms comprise 44 per cent, while American firms represent 16, exhibiting the latest products in the fields of civil and military aviation, satellites, and radar and surveillance equipment.

The members of the official delegation of GEA were busy in continuous meetings as the participants revealed keen interest to participate in the coming IDEX 2007.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Seif Al Nahyan, Director of the Abu Dhabi Civil Aviation Authority, chairman of Ettihad Airlines announced that Ettihad is sponsoring the events of the eighth IDEX 2007, adding that the participation in such international events helps in further promoting IDEX worldwide. He pointed out that the participation in the Paris event resulted in reaching to an agreement with China confirming its participation in IDEX, which is to occupy a full hall, assigned already for hall number 1. Further, other countries expanded the participation and space including Switzerland, Germany, and Ukraine.

Shaikh Ahmed also explained that during the event local and regional firms have negotiated the participation, within GEA's pavilion, in the coming Euro Saturi exhibition that will take place in France in 2006.
