Facilities at the city, spread over one million square metres on the coast, include a 4-star hotel, hotel apartments, residential blocks and a sailboat anchor, besides temporary playgrounds, amphitheatres, restaurants and a media centre.
Shabibi said the sports city would be a boon for sports and sportsmen in the country, in addition to its economic and tourist dimensions. He added the complex was all ready to host the Asian Beach Games Muscat 2010.
