The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by South African Ambassador to the UAE Yacoob Abba Omar and Indian Consul General in Dubai Sanjay Verma.

“Nando’s is a well known brand in South Africa which had started with a small beginning. The popularity of the brand worldwide shows what we can achieve internationally,” Omar said.

“The South African culture has always been vibrant and passionate. Nando’s has managed to bring the same colorful culture and warmth in the homely experience that it delivers to all its guests in the UAE,” Nando’s UAE CEO Suhail Gidwani said.

Shiraz Gidwani, Nando’s Chief Nandoca in the UAE, said that Nando’s now has 995 restaurants around the world; the outlet opened in Johannesburg in 1987. “Nandoca” is the term used for people who work with the restaurant. He added that Nando’s will open their first restaurant in Abu Dhabi soon.

“Nando’s at the Marina promenade is a wonderful place to spend a relaxed evening with family or friends,” Nando’s UAE COO Dinesh Acharya said.
