Interplast aims to double its capacity next year

ABU DHABI—Interplast Company Ltd, Sharjah-based manufacturer of different plastic products for construction industry, which this year invested over $50 million, said it has plans to double its production capacity next year, said General Manager Savvas A. Lardis, in an interview with Khaleej Times.

The Company, which has completed silver jubilee of its operations, is part of a Group of companies under the management of Harwal and is engaged in the manufacturing of diversified products mainly in plastics with an installed conversion capacity of 200,000 metric ton per year. With a workforce of over 3000, has a sales turnover of about Dh800 million.

Apart from a manufacturing base in Sharjah, the general manager said that the Group has manufacturing facilities in the USA, Europe and in the CIS, with marketing offices in the UK, France and Saudi Arabia. Interplast has 70 per cent market share in the UAE market and exports its products to Middle East, North America, Europe, Africa, the Far East, CIS countries and Subcontinent.

Interplast's manufacturing activity, premises and products have expanded since its inception, and it can boast of having five product ranges which are: HARWAL Compound; Electrical Products ; Decoform; Decopack and Home Improvements.

Its electrical products range includes: Decoduct - Cable Management Systems; Decoduct range of Cable Management Systems are made according to British, US and Gulf standards.

He said that the Decoduct cable management systems have won the Diamond mark certificate from ASTA of the UK confirming compliance with the relevant BSEN standards and ASTA is the reputable and relevant UK testing Body for electrical products. Interplast's Decoduct range has the new ISO 9001 2000 series quality management system certification from ASTA of the UK.
