The inaugural gemological conference, which is being organised on April 24th by the French Business Council and sponsored by the Gold & Jewellery Group, is seen as a platform for the leading figures in the industry to meet, exchange ideas and debate current industry issues.
Prominent among the leading speakers at the seminar are Adnan Abdul Rahman Sharrafi, Director of Dubai Central Laboratory Department Dubai Municipality; Anan Fakhreddin, Diamond Promotion Service Director, Diamond Trading Company; Amu B. Laxman, International Coloured Gemstones Association Ambassador to the UAE; Tawfique Abdullah, CEO, Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre; Tawhid Abdullah, Chairman Gold and Jewellery Group, Dubai and Laurent Grenier de Cardenal, Gems Expert in charge of the Gem Material Laboratory, a section of the Dubai Central Laboratory.
"With IJD already acknowledged as the most definitive show in the region for jewellery, gems, watches and silverware, participation by such leading industry opinion leaders at the conference, adds another authoritative ingredient to the event," said DWTC Assistant General Manager (Acting), Abdulla T. Qassem.
Gemologists, manufacturers, suppliers, retailers from around the world as well as select local and regional media are expected to attend the conference.
IJD will be held from April 22 to 26 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre and will provide a unique opportunity to view a comprehensive display of jewellery from leading international suppliers.
The exhibition has attracted strong interest from industry representatives from all over the world, with over 220 exhibitors from countries such as France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, India, Italy, Lebanon, Turkey and the United Kingdom among others, having confirmed their participation.
