Bollywood 'desi girl' Priyanka Chopra, who has made a powerful foray into international TV with Quantico, has garnered support and kudos from Indian film fraternity veterans like Shabana Azmi, Prakash Jha and Shekhar Kapur. For them, she's already an international star.
The former beauty queen stars as Alex Parrish, a rookie FBI recruit with a mysterious past. Quantico premiered in India on Saturday.
The first episode laid a mysterious pitch with a terrorist attack in New York and FBI agents under the scanner with Priyanka's character also a suspect. The storytelling switches from the past to the present, and back. The show also leaves a mysterious vibe surrounding all of agents.
With acclaim coming her way, Priyanka is glad her hard work has paid off.
The actress, who had earlier created waves in the foreign market with her music singles In My City and Exotic, tweeted: "Overwhelmed! Glad you guys liked #Quantico. Makes all the madness, hard work and effort so worth it! Live tweeting's so much fun, must do again!".
