Veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam has been hospitalised at Chennai's Apollo Hospital, according to Hindustan Times. 
He has been kept under observation and this is not the first time the filmmaker has faced cardiac issues, Times Now reported. 
Mani Ratnam is known for iconic Tamil, Hindi films like Roja, Saathiya, Naygan, Bombay, Kannathil Muthamittal, Dil Se, Guru and more. 
He was expected to begin work on his next period drama, Ponniyin Selvan with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Tamil actor Vikram.
