Dubai — United Bank Limited (UBL) has launched ‘NRP Banking’ in Dubai to cater the needs of Non-Resident Pakistanis.
As per recent statistics, more than eight million Pakistanis live overseas, with the Middle East, Europe and America being the major remittance source markets. Pakistan is the seventh largest remittance market in the world.
The bank said that ‘NRP Banking’ offers an array of banking services to Non-Resident Pakistanis — from deposits to priority banking services, including investments and loans.
This makes UBL the first bank to offer a holistic solution to the NRP’s banking and investment needs under one roof.
Offerings under this umbrella include deposit accounts, signature (priority) banking, car and home loans, credit cards, mutual funds, Internet and mobile banking and access to stock and real estate markets.
Wajahat Husain, president & CEO of UBL, along with senior executives of the bank, attended the ‘NRP Banking’ launch event in Dubai, where they introduced customers, members of the Pakistan Professionals Wing — Dubai and the media to the ‘NRP Banking’ product suite.
“UBL‘s global network has given us the opportunity to offer products and services that suit the financial needs of Non-Resident Pakistanis,” Husain said. “With the launch of UBL ‘NRP Banking’ services, we are not only bringing a positive stimulus to the country’s economy, but also doing our part in bringing Pakistan closer to our countrymen residing overseas,” Husain added.
UBL offers customised financial products and services which cater to all segments of customers. In addition to 1,300 branches within Pakistan, UBL has an extensive branch network in the UAE, GCC countries, Tanzania, China, Switzerland, UK and the US.
Non Resident Pakistanis or people of Pakistani origin are a vital source of foreign exchange entering the country by way of remittances.
