Saif Mohamed Al Suwaidi, director-general of the General Civil Aviation Authority, or GCAA, welcomed in his office Abel Sawadogo, director-general of the National Agency for Civil Aviation (Anac) of the Republic of Burkina Faso, who was visiting the UAE.
He was accompanied by a high-level delegation including air inspector Salifou Zanga, in order to identify the best practice, modernisation and development in the aviation sector in the UAE. The discussion centred on closer cooperation between the GCAA and the Anac, viewing implementation of regulation system, granting training programmes, exchanging experience and the continuous challenges in the aviation business worldwide. The visitors were then escorted to all the GCAA’s sectors where they were given the opportunity of witnessing live operations and briefed on the technology which is in use at the GCAA.
Al Suwaidi briefed Sawadogo on the UAE Strategic Plan; the development of the aviation sector in the UAE and expansions in the UAE’s airports; the aviation safety and the regulatory model implemented in the GCAA; the GCAA’s initiatives to optimise the UAE’s airspace to provide greater flight efficiency for continuous traffic growth as well as the UAE’s initiative for enhancing foreign operators safety standards by introducing the latest international safety measures; and air traffic management in the UAE.
Sawadogo praised the development of the aviation industry in the UAE and the accomplishments of this sector.
