SpiceJet, India’s second-largest airline, is now offering coronavirus screenings to its passengers for as little as Rs299 (Dh15), which is around one-third the market rate.
According to NDTV, SpiceHealth, the unit selling the tests, also offers screenings from mobile-testing facilities in Mumbai and New Delhi.
Prices at their mobile facilities start from Rs499 (Dh25). Patients have the option of either coming to the facility themselves to get their tests done or having their sample collected from their home.
The impact of pandemic restrictions on the aviation industry is still being felt. SpiceJet posted a net loss of 569.6 million rupees in the quarter ended Dec. 31 compared with a profit of 732 million rupees a year earlier.
