“As the Middle East grows in influence as a major hub for air traffic and expands its capability to perform globe-spanning missions like humanitarian airborne lift, it is only natural that Boeing has a strong presence at this year’s air show,” said Paul Kinscherff, president, Boeing Middle East.

He said the Dubai Air Show has proved over the years to be one of the leading international aerospace events attracting visitors and participants from across the world. “The region holds great potential for growth in the aerospace sector including infrastructure expansion, services and financing and aircraft sales. Boeing is keen to participate in the ambitious growth plans of this region by providing the right products and services to our customers,” said Kinscherff.

On the defence side, the AH-6i light attack/reconnaissance helicopter will mark its international air show debut with a series of VIP flights. Boeing will also demonstrate its Vigilare ground-based airborne command and control system. Static displays include a US Air Force C-17 Globemaster III airlifter, a U.S. Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet, the Royal Australian Air Force’s Wedgetail 737 Airborne Early Warning and Control aircraft, and a US Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle, which will perform in the daily flying display.

On the commercial side, Boeing customer Qatar Airways will have a newly delivered Boeing 777-200LR on static display, and Boeing Business Jets will display a customer’s BBJ. Boeing will provide business and market updates and emphasise the company’s commitment to customers, suppliers and partners in the region.

In addition to hosting a series of briefings on key programs and issues throughout the show, Boeing is co-sponsoring the Middle East Air Chiefs Conference and the Engineering Student of the Year Award. Both events take place on Saturday.
