As the counting trends show BJP securing a comfortable majority, leaders across the world have congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his historic electoral victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
With around half the 600 million votes cast counted, Election Commission data showed Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning 300 of India's 543 elected lower house seats.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday congratulated his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi for his party's performance in the election.
"I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on the electoral victory of BJP and allies. Look forward to working with him for peace, progress and prosperity in South Asia," Khan said.
The message comes as the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party registered strong leads in 300 seats, compared to 53 for the Congress. The BJP-led NDA alliance stood strong with leads in 345 seats, while the UPA alliance saw leads in 83 seats.
