DUBAI - Emirates Post has announced revised timings for post offices during the holy month. Most post offices will remain open until 1am on weekdays and till midnight on weekends, with a break from 5pm to 9pm.
The working hours at Dubai Central Post Office, Karama, will be from 9am to 5pm, and from 9pm to 1am on weekdays - from Saturday to Wednesday. On Thursdays, the post office will be open from 9am to 3pm, and again from 9pm until 12 midnight. On Fridays, it will remain open from 9pm to 1am. The airport post office will remain open 24 hours. The working hours at Abu Dhabi post offices will be from 9am to 5pm and from 9pm to 1am on weekdays.
Education ministry
DUBAI - The Ministry of Education and Youth has announced the schedule for teaching hours at private schools during the holy month. Classes will begin at 8.30am and will continue till 2pm. Each session for grades 1 to 6 will be of 35-minute duration. For other grades, the session will be of 40 minutes. The lunch break will be reduced to 15 minutes and school canteens will remain closed for the entire month. At government schools, classes will begin at 9am for nursery schools. Boys' and girls' schools for other stages will begin at 8am. Each session will be 40 minutes at preparatory schools and secondary schools.
Sharjah Municipality
SHARJAH - The Sharjah Municipality has changed its work schedule for the holy month. Some of its sections, however, will maintain distinguished municipal services during the entire month. Mohammed Hussain, head of the security section of the municipality, said that all parks would be open to the public after Tarawih prayers till 3am, adding that Al Hizam Al Akhdar Park (Green Belt Park) will remain open to women and children till 12 midnight. As for the services of the emergency office, Mr Hussain pointed out that the office will be ready to receive the complaints of the public 24 hours on the number 993.
Al Jazeera Park
SHARJAH - Entrance to Al Jazeera Park in Sharjah will be free of charge between 8am and 1am during the holy month of Ramadan. This was announced by the Sharjah Municipality. It said that fees for children's games in the city would be reduced to Dh3 and called upon members of the public to cooperate with the civic body and preserve hygiene in public areas, parks and roads.
