The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has started an awareness campaign on food being served by wedding halls and kitchens.
During the campaign, which is expected to be continued throughout the summer season, inspectors will raid wedding halls and kitchens to confirm whether all the prescribed health and safety requirements are fully met by them.
The inspectors will check personal hygiene of the staff, general cleanliness of the area where food is stored, vehicles and safety of equipment used to serve food.
In the kitchens, food storage, preparation, cooking and handling will come under the scrutiny of ADFCA inspectors.
The campaign aims at focusing on educating the stakeholders about the food safety rules, requirements and procedures as well as the best practices while handling food.
A large number of people gather at the wedding halls to celebrate weddings and other parties.
