The project which costs Dh36 million will be executed by the Federal Electrcity and Water Authority (FEWA) as parts of its efforts to ensure best services for the consumers in the emirate.
Engineer Mohammed Suwaid, Director of Water department at FEWA, said theproject will include one tank with a capacity of 10 million gallons and two tanks with a capacity of four million gallons each. The project is aimed at increasing reserved water to meet the demands of the consumers for two days in case of emergency related to water scarcity. The project will pump water automatically if there is an interruption in water production plants.
The project will be completed by March 2013 and work has already begun. Yahya Al Reyaysa, said the move will have a positive effect on the services provided to the residents of the emirate and will play a great role in re-energising tourism.
