The 25-year-old accused I.K. told Judge Fahmi Mounir of the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance that he was supposed to deliver the drugs to some person in the UAE.
He testified that a compatriot back home had given him Dh900 and provided him with a visit visa to Dubai in return for swallowing capsules filled with the narcotic substance.
He was tasked with handing over the capsules to another compatriot who would pick him up at the Dubai International Airport (DIA).
H.K. was arrested on May 13 this year at Dubai airport.
A Customs inspector had earlier told the court that the accused had aroused his suspicion when he attempted to passed through the Customs checkpoint.
An X-ray of his body showed that there were capsules concealed in his stomach.
However, the accused denied possessing or swallowing any narcotics.
He was then referred to the Anti-Narcotics Unit of Dubai Police.
On May 14, the accused passed out 95 capsules weighing 822 grammes in front of the anti-narcotics officers at Dubai Hospital.
