Relatives can visit the inmates from 8am to 12 noon and from 1pm to 5pm during the holidays.
For inmates at the Al Mafraq Juvenile Care Centre, the visiting hours will be from 8am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm.
Non-Arab expatriate men can visit the inmates at Al Mafraq Juvenile Care Centre and at both Al Ain and Al Wathba jails on Friday, while Saturday and Sunday have been specified for Arab expatriate men to visit the inmates.
Women were designated to visit inmates in these jails on Monday and Tuesday.
Colonel Mohammed Saif Mattar Al Zaabi, Director of the department, congratulated the higher leadership, police commandments and all Emiratis and expatriates in the UAE on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
He stressed his keenness on allowing inmates to be in touch with their families and parents at a time that suits them and achieve the cherished purpose on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr. The department is keen on creating suitable visiting hours for both the visitors and the inmates as part of the “Salamatak” initiative being launched by the Abu Dhabi Police. Under the initiative, visitors will be transported in eco-friendly electric cars from the gate of the jails to the place where they meet the inmates.
