Safari Group will be launching the Safari Mall at Al Muweilah in Sharjah on September 4. Touted to be the largest hypermarket in the UAE, the mall has a built area of up to 1.2 million sq ft spread over basement, ground and two floors. The mall will be inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salim Al Qasimi, deputy ruler of Sharjah, and will take place on September 4. This is the first branch to open within the UAE, with future plans for expansion across the country. During the opening week, customers will be invited to take part in multiple raffles and lucky draws, regardless of whether anything is purchased. The mall will also introduce the largest hypermarket in the UAE, providing a plethora of goods and services to tourists, residents, and citizens alike. Breaking ground in 2017, the project was completed in record time to service the surrounding areas in Sharjah. With over 250 shops within the mall, customers can be sure to receive top-quality products at affordable prices. Sharjah was chosen as a starting point within the UAE due to its growth and potential as a city; the UAE itself was chosen as a launching pad into the Gulf due to its constant development. The chairman of Safari Group, Aboobacker Madappat, says, “the mall itself is over 1.2 million sq. feet, and is three storeys tall. In Sharjah, despite other supermarkets, he mall stands out better quality products, customer service, and value satisfaction. A club card will be introduced to loyal customers, with multiple offers at hand. With specific marketing strategies, the focus is to create a positive shopping experience for our customers.” The press conference was attended by Surendra Nath, the director of finance, Zainul Abideen, managing director, Aboobacker Madappat, chairman, and Shamim Backer, executive director, of Safari Group.
