UAE to host Global TransRail in 2011

ABU DHABI --The National Transport Authority, the Federal Government Authority responsible for the UAE Land and Maritime Transport Sectors, announced that Global TransRail will take place 1st – 3rd November 2011 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The NTA accords high priority and importance to building a safe and modern Railway Industry in the UAE.

It will use GlobalTransRail as the platform to promote industry best practice, form alliances with international Railway Leaders to bring tried-and-tested railway technology to the UAE, provide access to global companies and suppliers to the UAE Railway Market and beyond, encourage competition and innovation and form national and regional standards, whilst creating international awareness of the many rail projects planned / underway across the region.

Dr. Nasser Saif AL Mansoori, Director General of the NTA, stated that “The importance of the environment, the challenges of population growth, pace of economic development and traffic conditions have all contributed to the noticeable political shift across the world towards Rail, here in the UAE and the wider region there are currently large plans for rail projects,” .

Al Mansoori added “we have been planning such event for some time now, it is fitting that the UAE Federal Government Authority takes the lead and facilitates this important gathering of local, regional and international companies whose experience will help map the networks of the future, and bring new ideas and innovations to the region”.

Global TransRail will be the definitive platform to source the latest ideas, innovations, Rail products and meet top railway practitioners, experts and suppliers in all fields of railways. The exhibition will also accommodate International Railway Manufacturers, vehicle suppliers, Railway Equipments and systems, assemblies, latest railway technology, operators, maintainers and infrastructure managers.

Abdulla AL Katheeri, executive Director of the Land Transport Sector at the NTA, stated that “ this event will be a fantastic opportunity to display the International Railway Industry products and services in one venue, also this will be a huge awareness campaign for the UAE and the region on the range and choices of railway systems available in the marketplace”.

NTA has selected IIR Middle East, global leaders in facilitating events for the traffic and land transport sectors, to manage the exhibition on its behalf.
