In a bid to capture a perfect selfie, a dare-devil pose proved disastrous for a 24-year-old man in India who is now fighting for his life.
Subrat Nag is in a critical condition after he lost his balance and tumbled over a 50-foot Gali Gabdar waterfall in Koraput in Odisha on 3 May. Nag was visiting the waterfall along with his friends and decided to stand on the slippery inclined surface to capture a selfie. The terrifying moment was filmed by Nag's friends who are heard cheering him as he stood at the edge of a 50-foot waterfall when they start screaming in panic seeing Nag sliding down to the bottom of the gorge. The video shows Nag, who works at a shopping arcade, slowly slipping down as there is nothing to hold on to while his friends are seen running along the river bank trying to save him.
The footage also shows some tourists running down at the bottom of the waterfall where Nag is seen lying unconscious but alive.
Post the accident, the matter was reported to police and investigation has been initiated, however, it is reported in Daily Mail that Nag lost his footing because of algae under the water.
