Dar Al Ber Society ran 7,594 water aid projects last year for the benefit of vulnerable people all over the world.
The projects were mean to ensure water for drinking and irrigation purposes, let alone civil uses, according to Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, executive director of Dar Al Ber. "Water was also secured for livestock animals."
The society, marking the World Water Day falling on March 22, spent Dh25,308,410 on these diverse vital water aid projects, he added.
"These projects included 198 water suqia schemes which stood at Dh193,212 as compared to 7,396 diverse water programmes, spanning water wells, reservoirs, against Dh25,115,198."
Al Falasi said these critical projects were a great help for thousands of vulnerable people. "These projects met their basic needs, eased their suffering, and improved their economic, social and financial conditions."
Meanwhile, Dar Al Ber, Ras Al Khaimah branch, organised a special function to delight the children of listed low-income families to mark the World Happiness Day.
"Twenty boys and girls of different nationalities, along with their mothers, were taken in a trip to different sites and play corners to put a smile on their faces," said Ali Abdullah Al Shehi, manager of RAK branch, Dar Al Ber.
