Mr Bannai pointed out that the course, taking place from April 26 to 30 at Sharjah University, comes in line with the recommendations issued by the national committee for food safety, and under the directives of the Secretariat General of Municipalities to implement standards of the HACCP at food factories in the country.
"The course is aimed at upgrading the skills of the employees working in the food safety sector. This will certainly enhance the quality of food in the country," he said, adding that countries should preserve the quality of food items as their products compete under the agreements of the World Trade Organisation.
Mr Binay stressed that the programme would improve the quality of food products and ensure that it would fit for human consumption.
He observed that the programme will help monitoring the process of food production, adding that the inspection staff at the Public Health department would supervise the implementation of the programme among food manufacturers in Sharjah.
