Shaikha Fatima honoured at Yas Island
ABU DHABI - Shaikha Fatima bin Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women’s Union, and of Family Development Foundation and Supreme Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, was yesterday awarded an Order of ‘Model Woman’ in recognition for her great achievements to empower the Emirati women, and her outstanding role in supporting women’s issues in various areas.
The honorary coincides with the UAE celebrations of the 40th national day anniversary.
Shaikh Fatima was honoured yesterday in a ceremony held here at Yas Island at Crown Plaza Hotel by the Union of Arab Producers of the Arab League in cooperation with the White Hands Campaign. The shield was received on the behalf of Shaikha Fatima by Mariam Al Rumaithi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation in the presence of woman leaders, societal and media circles and a number of officials.
Institutions supportive to the woman issues were honoured too.
