Seven jailed for forgery

FUJAIRAH — The Fujairah Criminal Court has sentenced a UAE national, Abdullah Saeed, and a Yemen national, Issa Salem, to three years in jail each for forging official car sale documents. Saeed has also been fined Dh7000.

The court also sentenced five others involved in the case to six months each in prison. They are UAE national Saeed Omar Saeed, Oman nationals Ahmed Mohammed Mahfouz and Mohammed Saeed Muslim and Yemen nationals Hadi Nasser and Abduallaj Saleh Ali.

The case details are that the police were tipped off that a number of persons had forged some documents relating to cars. After an investigation and search, it was found that was the UAE national who had forged an official letter with which other forged documents were issued for his accomplices.

The suspect was arrested and he confessed to the charge. He also disclosed the names of his associates, who also confessed to the crime saying that they had known that the papers were forged. They told the police that they had used the documents to obtain registration papers that enabled them to sell cars.
