Rate of serious crimes dropped by 40.6 per cent in Al Qusais last year when compared with past two years, according to Dubai Police.
The latest statistics also reveal that road accidents dropped by 14.3 per cent, traffic death mortality 27.7 per cent, injuries by 29.8 per cent and run-over accidents by 25 per cent last year as compared to 2016.
Security programmes implemented by Al Qusais Police Station contributed to the reduction of crime rate in the area.
The implemented security programmes include Tagtia or 'Cover' which aims to increase the number of patrols and arrests of criminals in the Qusais jurisdiction area; Malafat Aminia or 'Known files', which aims to resolve serious crimes, in addition to security campaigns carried out in the jurisdiction in cooperation with the general department for criminal investigation.
Al Qusais Police Station also implemented a 'readiness' programme which aims at enhancing the efficiency of patrolling officers to ensure safety and security of the residents.
Meanwhile, Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, has opened a 'Daily brief hall' at Al Qusais Police Station in the presence of Brigadier General Yousef Al Adidi, director of Al Qusais Police Station, and number of police officers during his annual visit to police stations across the emirate.
Al Marri stressed the keenness of the Dubai Police to use artificial intelligence programmes to combat and reduce crime in the emirate as part of their efforts to ensure the safety of residents. During the opening ceremony held last week, Al Marri spoke about the proposed route of the security patrols through the intelligent security prediction system, which allows communication between the officials concerned.
The Dubai Police chief has also reviewed the statistics and security programmes implemented by Al Qusais police station during the occasion.
