Something new has emerged in the waiting saga for the Galaxy Note 8: apparently, it's going to have Samsung's best camera ever.
Not surprising, since every new device should be souped-up, right?
Nevertheless, thee shall indulge.
Techradar, quoting a report from Dutch website Galaxy Club (Dutch skills needed, though Google Translate did a fine job with it), did some digging and found out, 'from Samsung's own materials', the following:
. 'Smart Zoom': The long-rumoured dual-lens camera has been a staple, but this time we're hearing that it'll have 3x optical zoom:
. 'Refocus', 'Depth Application': The camera, being dual-lens should, logically, measure depth. But the report shows us the first glimpse of what it could potentially do:
. 'Super Night Shot': Well, it speaks for itself. The camera is purportedly able to absorb more light - an improved HDR capability will only add to brighter snaps:
. 'Perspective View', 'Background Effect': Forget about panorama; the 'Perspective' thing will allow you to rotate a scene after you've shot it. Meanwhile, 'Background' shows some 'more psychedelic tricks', also known as blurring effects:
Meanwhile, Forbes just reported something interesting, courtesy of this picture from obtained from the US Federal Communications Commission:
Can we assume that Samsung's next device will really be called the 'Note 8'? If you look at the 'Model' line, it says 'SM-N950U'; the Galaxy S8's model number is SM-G950, the Galaxy S7's base model was SM-G930 and the ill-fated Note 7's was SM-N930. It apparently alludes to 'G' as 'Galaxy' and 'N' as 'Note'.
And if you slap in those 'Additional Model(s)', it's obvious that there are four Note 8 options (for the US market at least). Read all about it on the FCC website.
August 23, 2017, folks.
