About 200 of the region's tourism industry leaders will be coming to Ras Al Khaimah in October for the first World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Middle East and North Africa Leaders Forum.
To be organised by the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), the forum will be held at Al Hamra International Exhibition and Conference Centre.
It will be a one-day event that aims to shed light on core issues, as well as challenges and opportunities, in the tourism industry.
"The opportunity to host this prestigious industry forum comes at a pivotal time as we aim to fuel a sustainable tourism-driven economic growth in Ras Al Khaimah, as guided by our current Destination Strategy 2019-2021," said Raki Phillips, CEO of RAKTDA.
Among the issues that will be tackled in presentations and panel discussions are job creation and skill development; climate and environment action; and digital disruption.
Gloria Guevara, president and CEO of WTTC, said the Forum is "a great space in which business leaders can meet with government, media and industry experts to share knowledge and plan for sector growth in the years ahead".
The World Travel and Tourism Council is the body which represents the travel and tourism private sector globally. Members include over 170 CEOs, chairs and presidents of the world's leading travel and tourism companies from all geographies covering all industries.
