The Ras Al Khaimah Police has entered the World Guinness Records with the biggest police identity badge in the globe.
Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, General Commander of the RAK Police, said the quantum leap reflects RAK police passion about excellence and hard work.
"Our new sustainable badge is a source of pride for all RAK police staff."
Brigadier Jamal Ahmad Al Tair, director-general of the resources and assistant services, said it took them three months to get it done.
"The record badge took 26 days to be made with work done around the clock."
The massive badge, weighing 104kg is 115cm wide, 154cm high, and 29mm thick, he disclosed.
"The police badge is intended to boost the feeling of safety and security across the emirate, we have adopted the new badge that all staff officers will hold."
His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, had given nod to the distinct badge as part of the RAK police's creative initiatives and leading practices.
Major-General Nuaimi said the new badge reflects the government's support of law enforcement bodies "to provide the best services to the public and boost safety, security, and stability all over the emirate."
The new police badge is an of affirmation of the judicial power granted to RAK policemen, he underlined.
"The new badge will help identify cops in all situations, including road accidents sites and crime scenes."
The badges will also help boost communication with all segments of the society in line with the vision and goals of the Ministry of Interior, he elaborated.
"The police badges are to be used as per certain guidelines that clarify their time and place of use."
