A 40-year-old Pakistani national died after he drowned Saturday morning in Sharjah's Al Khan beach.
Police said that the deceased had gone to the beach with his friend for picnick. He decided to swim, but the weather was unstable leading to strong currents.
Police said that they received a call following which they dispatched the coastal guards and rescue unit, deployed in the area specially this time of the year. The team managed to find the man, but he was already dead.
Police patrol transferred the body to forensic laboratory for more investigation to determine the cause of the death.
