A ministerial circular issued by Dr Ali bin Abdullah Al Kaabi, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, stated sponsorship transfer for private security companies licensed by the police directorate is allowed.

The circular No. 8 of 2005 stressed on employment visa committees and concerned labour departments in Abu Dhabi not to issue employment visas for private security companies that are not licensed by the General Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police.

Licensed private security firms should issue work permits for its employees while it is not permissible for them to issue visit visa for their guards, according to the circular.

The circular would be effective from May 30 and all concerned parties should make sure to abide by its terms.
