Gourmet Gulf, one of the Middle East's top food and beverage companies, has launched the #RamadanWishes fundraising campaign across its seven restaurant brands in support of Make-A-Wish® UAE.
The campaign will unite some of the UAE's favourite restaurants -Azkadenya, California Pizza Kitchen, Dalloyau, Panda Express, Texas De Brazil, The Hummingbird Bakery and Yo! Sushi - to raise more than Dh150,000 for the charity.
Throughout the Holy Month diners enjoying their festive experience at any of the seven brands will be invited to add a small donation to their restaurant bill.
All money donated will go directly to Make-A-Wish UAE, the local chapter of the international charity organisation. Since its inception in the UAE in 2010, the Make-a-Wish Foundation has been fulfilling the wishes of children suffering from critical and life-threatening diseases, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Sheikha Bint Saif Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Honorary President of the Foundation, the wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the UAE.
Today, Make-A-Wish is the world's largest wish-granting organisation, serving children in nearly 50 countries on five continents. Since 1980, it has granted more than 350,000 wishes to children around the world.
"Uniting across this important cause allows us to share the true spirit of Ramadan with our teams and our customers," said Stewart Black, CEO, Gourmet Gulf. "Our vision at Gourmet Gulf is to Grow Goodness and #RamadanWishes is very much aligned to this and to the UAE's Year of Giving initiative. It allows us to come together as an organisation and community to bring a moment of happiness to some seriously ill children."
Harnessing the infrastructure of its seven brands and 24 restaurants in the UAE, Gourmet Gulf will run the #RamadanWishes campaign in all outlets until Eid-Al-Fitr. "When customers break their fast with us, we are already sharing in a special family moment of togetherness, peace and gratitude. In that moment #RamadanWishes is asking them to think about those less fortunate families affected by the illness of a child. We hope we can all connect with this universal language," added Black.
"A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions. For many, the wish marks a turning point in the fight against their illnesses. It also brings a welcome reprieve to their families. We are grateful to Gourmet Gulf for partnering with us this Ramadan and for the generosity of the people of the UAE in contributing to the #RamadanWishes initiative which will support the foundation to reach out to more children and grant their wishes," said Hani Al Zubaidi, Make-A-Wish UAE.
