Pakistan government announced that elderly pilgrims will be exempted from participating in the balloting for Haj.
The move will allow over 10,000 elderly pilgrims, over and at the age of 80, to perform Haj without having to go through the required balloting procedure.
According to Express Tribune, in addition to this the government has decided that 10,000 of those pilgrims who have participated in the balloting for the last three years but failed to win, will also be sent for Haj this year.
Besides this, over 500 labourers will also get a chance to perform Haj, without participating in the balloting.
Also, it is expected that at least 87,000 pilgrims will be participating in balloting for Haj this year for which the Ministry of Religious Affairs has been asked to complete all arrangements in run-up to Haj.
