Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan shared his vision for the country's future cities on Saturday.
Taking to Twitter, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader tweeted a picture of a Pakistani city in the future, featuring tall buildings that will serve as 'vertical cities', allowing for more green spaces.
Khan added that as being one of the most environmentally-threatened countries in the world, Pakistan's arable land is being eaten up by housing societies, which will have grave consequences on the country's food security.
My vision for our future cities: to allow buildings to rise vertically & allow for more green spaces as Pak is one of the the most environmentally-threatened countries. Avoiding large sprawling built-up areas will also allow easier provision of amenities to our urban dwellers. pic.twitter.com/pYLgjpeHMcHe even mentioned that the government was in the process of making laws to allow building to 'go as high' according to international safety standards.

Our arable land is being eaten up by housing societies and has grave consequences for our food security in the future. Also, we are in the process of making laws to allow buildings, built to international safety standards, to go as high as in other cities across the world. https://t.co/bvKcFpmF1Uyousufk@khaleejtimes.com
